Educational Sites for Natural Gas and Electricity Safety

The Ask:
An easily customizable WCAG compliant WordPress template design was needed to support natural gas and electric company safety education for K-12 students. I needed to create a template design that was both informative with core safety content as well as easily interchangeable to update for each utility’s brand.
The Solution:
I began the process by working with a group of writers to create content for natural gas and electricity safety. This content came in the form of games, quizzes, FAQ’s, chat bots, dictionaries, and videos. Working in tandem with development, we customized a template to incorporate all of this content into clearly labeled blocks, menu items, and pages. All branding colors were clearly marked and easily adaptable to any brand.
In Use
I wrote up SOPs to clearly document how to customize branding, logos, and content for each client. From there I worked very hands-on with my team to use this template to fulfill the educational site requirement for each of these utility clients.
Content pages and menu items could be easily deleted depending on the type of utility and types of education modules needed.
